About Us
"As a Marwadi woman, born and brought up in Kolkata, my fascination with sarees started even before I draped the first one on myself. Watching my mother, who has only ever worn sarees all her life to seeing beautiful Bengali women in their crisp starched ‘tant’ sarees, with beautiful kohl lined eyes and a big bindi, fuelled my love and admiration for this drape from early on. An admiration that has only grown with time. The timeless grace of the fabrics, intricacies of the designs and the power you feel in wearing one – a saree can truly make you feel like a goddess. With ‘Taarini’ , which is one of the many names of goddess Durga, I hope to bring that feeling of grace, splendour, and power to each one of you. Our collection of handpicked sarees is a celebration of India's rich textile heritage – with each piece being meticulously crafted by ‘karigars’ from across the country. In addition to traditional cotton and silk handlooms and varieties like Paithanis and Kanjeevarams, you will also find contemporary designs inspired by years of my endless love for this ethereal garment. Whether you’re looking for minimalistic everyday prints or designs that will add to your festivities, I am sure you will find a saree that speaks your language of comfort and style. So, welcome to Taarini, where every saree is one of a kind and created to make you feel like part of a timeless legacy."
